First, which part is which The roof edge comes with vocabulary, and knowing them helps you read a quote. Fascia: the vertical face. Soffit: the underside. Eave: the overhang itself. You will not need this vocabulary often, but it appears in every estimate, and quotes are hard to compare when you are not sure what is being described. When somebody says the channel mounts under the soffit, you now know what part of the house they are pointing at. Why the track mounts at that

Outdoor lighting is really several different jobs "Outdoor lighting" covers a lot of ground. For some it is the house, for others the yard, and for plenty of people it is the dark part of the property they never fixed. They are related jobs with different answers. Lighting the house On the building, a permanent LED system follows the roofline, is left in place year round, and changes color on demand. That covers Christmas, game days, and every ordinary evening in between.

Why Upstate homeowners keep asking about it Around Greenville, more rooflines are lit every December, and the lights are not coming down in January. What you are looking at is a permanent LED system, installed along the roofline and left there. Not a December purchase Christmas is the trigger for most calls. The reason it holds up is what it does the rest of the year. A warm white line along the roof means the front of the house is not a dark shape at nine at night, which

Before anything goes on the house The first step is a look at the property, not a truck in the driveway. That visit covers the roofline, the gables, the porch and anything else worth lighting. It costs nothing, and nobody expects a decision on the spot. The design comes before the price Your house is not the same https://claytontmgm830.wpsuo.com/permanent-christmas-lighting-what-they-are-and-how-they-actually-work shape as the one down the street, so the plan gets drawn

What makes these different These go up once and stay put. That single sentence is most of the appeal. The hardware is a low profile LED channel run along the roofline and eaves, matched to the color of your trim so it does not stand out during the day. More than Christmas Christmas is the reason most people call, though it ends up being one setting among many. Halloween orange, Fourth of July red and blue, school colors before a game, a graduation: it is one system, differ

Accent lighting is defined by what it does not light Most outdoor lighting is trying to cover ground. Accent lighting answers a different one: what deserves attention. It is not coverage. One feature, lit deliberately, while everything around it stays dark. The dark part is not a gap in the plan. It is the reason the lit thing stands out.The concept is simple to say and hard to hold to. Choose two or three features and let the rest of the property stay dark. The pull is alw

Most of the decision is made before anybody quotes you The trouble with comparing lighting quotes is that the numbers rarely describe the same work. One company is pricing a standard package, another is quoting a design for your actual roofline, and you cannot tell from the page which is which. Start with the design Ask to see what they are proposing for your house. A company that designs for the property can explain every run. A company that will not is selling you a pack

Your building is doing something at night People drive past your building after dark every day, and what they see is either a lit facade or a dark rectangle. A dark building reads as closed, and in a quieter way it reads as not there. A lit one stays in the mental map of everybody who drives that road. This is not an aesthetic decision for a commercial property. The building is the largest thing the business owns that faces the public, and light is what keeps it communicatin
